Meet Our Conference Technical Chair

Obie Fernandez is the CEO and founder of Hashrocket, Inc., a boutique web consultancy and product shop based in Jacksonville Beach, FL, and has more than 12 years of experience as a software developer. He has been hacking computers since he got his first Commodore VIC-20 in the Eighties, and found himself in the right place and time as a programmer on some of the first Java enterprise projects of the mid-Nineties. As a senior consultant at ThoughtWorks, Fernandez specialized in complex custom enterprise software projects. Obie is the series editor of Addison-Wesley's Professional Ruby series and the author of The Rails Way, a comprehensive guide to Ruby on Rails standards and development.
